Tom Clancy's The Division free with ASUS ROG laptop 2016

The Republic of Gamers division (pardon the pun) of ASUS will be giving away Tom Clancy’s The Division game by Ubisoft, to the folks who’ve purchased or will be purchasing an ASUS ROG gaming laptop between February 17th to March 21st, 2016. The Division will be launching on March 8th 2016, and it’s listed at RM201 on Steam (with the Gold Edition costing RM293).

Of course there are always caveats. Not all ASUS ROG laptops are entitled to get the free game, but only the ones that feature the NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, namely the GeForce GTX 980, 980M, and 970M graphics. This means that there are only five models qualified: ASUS ROG G751JT, G751JY, G752VT, G752VY, and GX700VO.

This offer is also only valid in 12 regions: Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Any of those ROG laptops purchased until March 21st will get a code, that has to be redeemed before April 30th 2016 before it expires.

The Division is a long time coming, since it was first announced almost three years ago during Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference. While the initial seven-minute gameplay demo looks so much better than the beta seen the past few weeks, at least the end product will still look better on a decent gaming PC, than it ever could on consoles. The game is like a combination of an action role-playing game, massively multiplayer online game, and third-person shooter, all packaged into one nice little game. The Division is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and of course, Microsoft Windows, but since we’re talking about ASUS and NVIDIA here, the ROG laptop is the master race here among the three platforms.

Once the eligible laptop is purchased, you’ll need to download and fill the proof of purchase, then email it to ASUS with the photo of the receipt attached. The activation code will be emailed to you within 5 working days, which you can use to redeem at GeForce’s site (or here if you live in Taiwan). The complete instructions can be found here: http://www.asus.com/event/2016/nb/tom-clancys-the-division/.
