Intel and HP are embarking on a new campaign that is in line with how people are re-defining how and where they get their work done. The campaign aims to bring back the balance between working and living as more Malaysians have been seen to be giving priority to happiness over salaries or job titles.

The Intel #WorkFromHappyPlace campaign has been designed to enable users to take along innovative HP products, such as the Stream 8 tablet and the Pavilion x2 2-in-1 convertible device, with them to their favourite places to get their work done. Instead of the BYOD (bring your own device) culture that allows users to bring in their devices to work, the WorkFromHappyPlace campaign encourages users to take their devices out of the office.

“For over 50 years, Intel has been refining microprocessor technology to the beat of Moore’s Law. These microprocessors power the continuing evolution of computing devices – from massive data centers and sleek 2-in-1 devices to smartphones and tablets. Thanks to the close cooperation we here share with customers like HP, we have been able to offer these innovations to consumers,” said Karen Chow, Head of MNC and Telco, Intel Malaysia and Singapore.

Just to refresh your memory on the two featured devices, the HP Stream 8 tablet comes with a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor, Intel HD graphics, 1 GB of RAM, 8” 1280 x 800 (WXGA) IPS display, and has a single micro-SIM slot. Next, the HP Pavilion x2 2-in-1 device was launched here last November and it comes with a 1.33 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3745D processor, Intel HD graphics, 2 GB of RAM, and a 10.1” 1280 x 800 (WXGA) IPS display.

Both devices run Windows 8.1, have 32 GB on board storage, and come with free one year access to Microsoft goodies such as the 1TB of Microsoft OneDrive and Office 365. The Stream 8 is priced at RM 847 while the Pavilion x2 is at RM 1,377.

The WorkFromHappyPlace campaign runs till the 30th of June and during this time, any purchases of HP Stream Notebook series or the HP Stream Tablet 8 will come with a free data SIM starter kit valued at RM 30. There are even bigger prizes for customers who purchase any HP Stream Notebook Series, Pavilion x360 Notebook series, or Pavilion x2 detachable series, as they will stand a chance of winning either the weekly free getaway prize worth up to RM 3,000 or a 1-year gym membership.

Readers can also try to win weekly HP Stream Tablets or RM 5,000 worth of AirAsia BIG points by uploading and sharing a picture of their own happy place via Twitter or Instagram. This contest ends on the 26th of June, so go ahead and check out the contest page for more details.
